Virginia Legacy Soccer Club

CCL Shootout Tournament Review

This past weekend, the Legacy hosted the first Club Champion’s League Shootout Tournament.  Some of the best U16-U18 teams in the area were invited to compete in a showcase style tournament in front of college coaches while the U11-U15 competed in round robin and playoff formats.  All in all 140 teams gathered in Williamsburg for a great event.  The Legacy found great success this weekend as 2 teams made it to the semi-finals, 3 teams finished as finalist, and 2 teams ended the weekend and their fall seasons as champions.

Congratulations to the U11 Elite Girls and U12 Elite Boys for becoming champions this weekend!  The U11 Elite girls only lost one game and won in the finals 4-0 against SOCA.  The U12 Elite Boys finished undefeated this weekend with 30 goals for and 5 goals against, all in 4 games!

                 U11 Elite                                                                                U12 Elite Girls

A job very well done to our U11 Elite Boys, U12 Elite Girls, and our U18 East End Wizards for ending the weekend as finalists.   The U11 Elite Boys defeated the likes of SOCA (Augusta) 5-0 and SOCA ’03 5-2. The U12 Elite Girls defeated SYA 2-0 and FC Milan 3-0 before the final where they were down 2 goals at half only to come back and force the game into PKs where they lost 5-4. What a great run ladies!  The U18 East End Wizards finished the weekend 1-0-2, beating SOCA 2-0 and netting a total of 4 goals on the weekend.

Both the U13 Wizards and the U14 Elite Boys both finished in the semi-finals this weekend.  It was a tough road for these teams who battled hard all weekend.

Good work this season. All of our teams fought hard into the last minutes of the season and left everything on the field going into the winter break.
