Legacy Welcomes Home Newest Staff Member

The Virginia Legacy is pleased to announce the hiring of the newest staff member, Alex Spirn.  Alex makes his way back home to us by way of Farmville Virginia.  In Farmville, Alex served as the Technical/Coaching Director for the Heart of Virginia Soccer Club.  As a youth player with the club since the earliest of ages, Spirn played next to Shawn Trueblood (East End Director of Coaching) for the '86 Wizards.  Spirn graduated from Jamestown High School before he headed off to Longwood University where he played for coach Jon Atkinson.  Post college, Alex worked as Graduate Assistant to the Longwood Men's Program before moving onto the youth system in the Southside of Virginia.  Spirn is currently working towards his USSF "C" license.

"While I was working with my previous club I always thought of Williamsburg as a great framework for success. So while I worked to develop soccer in a true grass roots fashion, I always found myself thinking of home.  It feels great to be back and working with a staff of coaches that I've always looked up to." - Alex Spirn

Alex has been named Community Director for the Legacy and will be working with the Recreational Program, WJCC Schools, TOPSoccer, ADP and coaching the U11 CCL Elite Girls Team.

If you have any ideas on how the Legacy can reach out further into the community, please contact Alex at aspirn@valegacysoccer.com
