Legacy Boys and Girls take top honors in district soccer awards

This past week, 29 Legacy boys players were honored with 1st or 2nd team all district accolades. 13 Legacy girls also were placed on the 1st or 2nd team in the Bay Rivers district. Legacy is also home to the Player of the Year from each district on the boys side, the player of the year from the Bay Rivers District on the girls side and also the Bay Rivers District Coach of the Year (Bobby O'Brien- DOC)

Junior Patrick O'Brien of Jamestown HS (Virginia Legacy U17 Wizards) was named Bay Rivers District Player of the year.  He led the district in goals scored with 15 in 10 games and has scored 16 goals and 12 assists over 14 games.  He scored in all 10 district matches this season and helped Jamestown to an undefeated regular season district crown.

Senior Jason Haas of Menchville (Virginia Legacy U18 Wizards) was named Peninsula District Player of the Year.  He was the anchor of a defense that only conceded 1 goal in all of district play (9 Games) and helped the Monarchs to the regular season district championship.  Jason will be playing college soccer next season for Hampden-Sydney College

Senior Lauren Gough of Jamestown (Virginia Legacy U18 Phoenix) was named Bay Rivers District Girls Player of the Year.  Gough has 24 goals and 10 assists and has helped Jamestown to an undefeated district season (9-0). Gough will be playing college soccer next season for the College of William and Mary.
