Legacy Coaches attend NSCAA Convention in Philadelphia

02/03/2010

Last Month the Staff and Coaches of the Virginia Legacy attended the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) national convention in Philadelphia, PA. During the 4 day convention they attended model training sessions performed by some of the best coaches and trainers from the nation and overseas, as well as attended lectures and presentations from some of the top speakers, coaches, and sports psychologists in the game worldwide.

The coaches use this opportunity each year as a way to stay up to date and current with the newest soccer trends in our game today and as a way to network at the nations largest soccer tradeshow.  Over 8,000 youth, highschool, college and pro coaches attend the event which takes place each January. "Whether it’s learning the basics of coaching goalkeepers or a high-level discussion of systems of play, every coach who attends will find something new to add to their soccer repertoire. And the coaching instruction is just the beginning – the four-day program is filled with a myriad of opportunities to mix and mingle with some of the most prominent names on the soccer landscape. (NSCAA)"

Some of the coaches were even lucky enough to meet and get pictures and autographs with US National team star and AC Milan star Oguchi Onyewu.  Legacy Staff in attendance were Tim Cristian, Bobby O'Brien, Mitch Bickmore, Jonny Kamara, Danny Salmon, Lloyd Stephens, Chris Norris, Chuck Connelly, Al Albert, Steve Shaw, Justin Chezem, Britta Marmon, John Daly and Stu Spirn.
