Virginia Legacy Soccer Club

The Legacy Family Expands into Poquoson-York

The Virginia Legacy is proud to announce its new affiliation with Islander Soccer Association.  Formerly the Poquoson Sharks – the Islander Soccer Association (ISA) has teamed up with the Virginia Legacy to bring the Legacy Soccer Club to the Poquoson/York Communities starting in Fall 2015.

The ISA Legacy will now be a part of the Legacy family and the Legacy will provide the same resources, coaches, and administrative support to all the teams on the Peninsula.  With this the Legacy will now provide travel soccer to all communities on the Peninsula (Hampton, NN, Poquoson, York and Williamsburg) with practice and game locations in each community.

Technical Director Bobby O’Brien had this to say - “We are thrilled to be working with ISA and being able to provide our services, coaches and resources to more families on the Peninsula.  It is our goal to provide kids with the best soccer experiences and we are confident this move will allow all kids on the Peninsula to experience what Virginia Legacy is about.”

Legacy Director of Coaching Shawn Trueblood will be in charge of all the Peninsula based Legacy teams playing out of ISA and East End. Director of Coaching Kelvin Jones will assist in the leadership while managing all the CCL Elite and Williamsburg based Legacy teams. Technical Director Bobby O’Brien will also continue to manage leadership of all the teams within Legacy and work with each community. In addition to U10-U18 travel opportunities for Boys and Girls – Legacy has also expanded its boys and girls ADP (U7-10 Advanced Development Program) to the Poquoson/York area as well and will begin that program this Spring (March 2015).

“These communities will now have more oversight on administration, player development, coaching resources, curriculums and their own Director of Coaching within Legacy to really help create the proper soccer environment. – says O’Brien”
