College Placement Program

What makes Virginia Legacy Soccer Club an elite level club is our continued level of placement of graduating players onto college rosters.

The VLSC has placed over 170 graduating seniors onto college rosters.  Our graduates have gone to William and Mary, University of Virginia, Princeton, Virginia Commonwealth University, Virginia Tech, Division III powers Hampden-Sydney, Christopher Newport University, Virginia Wesleyan College, and many other Division I, II, and III programs throughout the United States.  A number of Virginia Legacy players have also gone on to play professionally in the United Soccer Leagues Division 1 and 2, as well as the MLS.  Click for list of committments from previous years

Exhaustive efforts are made by the staff of the VLSC to facilitate this placement of our U-17 and U-18 players.the VLSC provides several distinct avenues directed at displaying our current graduating seniors to coaches throughout the United States.

1.Players Profile Booklet / Brochure - This brochure profiles each member of our U16, U-17 and U-18 teams.It outlines each member's accomplishments in soccer,academics, other sports, and activities.Listed under soccer accomplishments are their school achievements as well as ODP and club achievements.In academics, outlined are their GPA's, SATs or PSATs, and other school and club activities.Each player has listed their primary position, year of graduation, address and phone number, high school and vital statistics of height and weight.

2. VCCL College Showcase – Each year the VLSC plays host to the VCCL College Showcase for U16-18 boys and girls teams in the region.  The best teams from around the state are invited to play in a 2 day event in front of over 50 college coaches from all around the region.  Past colleges represented include Virginia Tech, William and Mary, VMI, CNU, JMU, Richmond, VCU, Hampden Sydney and many others from the D1 – D3 ranks.

3.Premier Tournament Participation -All VLSC Teams participate in the most competitive tournaments available.VLSC teams have participated in the following highly recruited tournaments in years past.

4. Virginia Legacy PDL Reserves/ Virginia Lady Legacy - these two teams are comprised of the best U16-U18 boys and girls players in the club.  They are formed through trials and participate during the summer months.  They play against top Super 20 League competition as well as participate in a College Showcase event.  These programs allow our kids to play with the best possible group of players against the best competition possible on a big stage.
