Virginia Legacy Futures Academy
Futures registration is now open!
The Virginia Legacy Soccer Club’s (VLSC’s) Futures Academy is a three-tiered developmental program for players between the ages of 5 through 10 years old. The main focus of this program involves individual skill development with the ultimate goal being to develop a passion for the game of soccer that will last a lifetime. The Futures Academy is comprised of (3) three different programs (Futures, Futures Excel, and Futures Select) specifically designed to meet the needs of EVERY CHILD based on their age, skill level and interest level in the game. All three programs are available in the Fall and Spring and typically cover an (8) eight-week period. The games will be on Saturday mornings at a local Elementary School TBD. Our United States Soccer Federation (USSF) certified instructors provide a challenging environment utilizing age appropriate training methods emphasizing technical/skills development. The details of each program are highlighted below to assist in helping parents find the right “fit” for their player.

Futures (Beginner Class: Ages 5-10) - Level 1
This instructional program is perfect for players with little to no experience between the ages of 5 through 10 years old. Players will be grouped based on gender and age level. The Future’s groups will train with a professional instructor once a week for 60 minutes and play games on Saturday mornings. The games will be played Hornsby Middle School in a festival style format that provides a unique player development opportunity each game day.

Futures Excel (Intermediate Class: Ages 6-8) - Level 2
Winter Indoor Training Program
The Excel program is a newly formed advanced program for players who are 6, 7 and 8 years old. This training is open to all returning future excel players that participated in our Fall Program. The VLSC staff will conduct 60 minutes practices for 7 weeks.

Dates: January 18th- February 29th

All Practices are held at Rawls Byrd Elementary School

Futures Select (Advanced Class: Ages 8-10) - Level 3
Winter Indoor Training Program
The Futures Select Program is a pre-travel program geared for advanced players who are 8 to10 years old. This is for players that are interested in moving up into the premier level competition within the next year. This training is open to all players that participated in our Fall Future Select program. Practices for the Futures Select groups are conducted by the VLSC Youth staff once a week for 60 minutes.
