Looking for an fun and educational soccer program for your child?
The Virginia Legacy Soccer Club (VLSC) offers a youth development program (called the Futures
Academy) for ALL players ages 6-11 years old that are interested in obtaining professional
instruction. Our certified instructors provide a challenging environment utilizing age appropriate
training methods emphasizing technical development.
The Futures Academy is comprised of 2 different programs (Futures & Futures Select) specifically
designed to meet EVERY CHILDS needs ages 6-11 years old.
The Futures program is typically for beginners ages 6-11 years old, and the Futures Select
program is for more experienced players that the VLSC staff determine require a more
challenging environment to play with players of comparable ability level.
Having two different programs for its youth, the Legacy ensures that all kids are getting the
proper development in the proper environment from a qualified group of coaches. Whether you
are a beginner or advanced player the Legacy has the program that you are looking for.
All of the practices and games are structured in a way to maximize the opportunities for your
child to develop and become a better player, but ultimately fall in love with the game of soccer.

Futures (6-11yrs)
The Futures Class helps the players learn and develop the proper technique in all aspects of soccer. Part of the program will concentrate on technical development and ball control. The second part of the academy will center around how to make tactical decisions as they experience small-sided play. Futures is a fun-filled, hands on learning environment geared towards teaching the game of soccer to everyone involved. It is excellent for beginners and also those who aspire to take their game to the next level. The Futures class will be a two (2) day-a-week program including a day only for matches.

Practices are one night a week for an hour. Games are on Saturday mornings for an hour. Practices are at Warhill Sports Complex. Game locations are currently TBA. We are now offering girls only and boys only practice! Players will receive a Futures Academy T-Shirt and a VA Legacy Soccer Ball.
Class 1: Girls Monday 5:30 - 6:30 - Warhill Sports Complex
Class 2: Boys Tuesdays 5:30 - 6:30 - Warhill Sports Complex
Class 3: Girls Wednesdays 5:30 - 6:30 - Warhill Sports Complex

Futures Select (Advanced Class: Ages 7-11)

The Legacy also offers a Futures Select program in an effort to provide a higher level of competition for our youth players. Futures Select is strictly invitation only and is intended to cater to our more developed players and provide advanced training and challenging matches. This Fall the Futures Select Class will be broken into 3 Groups (U8, U9 and U10). Our Futures Select players, who are selected from the Futures Academy, will train two times a week. They train as a group one day with our Legacy Directors to get more acclimated to our travel program and the other training session will be with their coach under the direction of the Virginia Legacy. Tim Cristian, Mitch Bickmore and Austin Kulp will be the primary trainers. Each age group (U8, U9 and U10) will be limited to 15 players per age. Matches will also be arranged each weekend to compete against our U10 travel teams and other local U9 and U10 travel programs. The goal of the Futures Select program is to give the players an opportunity to compete at a higher level and to make the transition into our travel program much smoother. The Futures Select season is broken into 3 segments and they run from September to Early November, January - February, and March to May.

Practice is two nights a week, Games are on Saturday. Most games will be in Williamsburg however the group may travel out of the area to Richmond or Newport News for 1 - 2 games.

A full Nike Uniform (Jersey, Shorts, Socks) is included in the price.
Please call if interested in the Futures Select Class as acceptance is by coaches recommendation.
