The Virginia Legacy Soccer Club is excited to announce its coaching staff and bios for the upcoming 2023/24 season - along with a few new staff members taking on larger roles in the upcoming fall season.

We are excited to welcome Steve Shaw, Kendal Pressey and Phil Geyer to expanded roles with the Legacy Soccer Technical Staff.  

Steve Shaw will take an expanded role as the Asst. Director of Peninsula teams - helping with the outreach, grassroots and U9 -U12 Travel teams and programs on the Peninsula. " Coach Shaw is a great asset and resource to our club and we are excited he is taking on a larger role with the players on the Peninsula. He is a coaching legend at CNU and in the youth game in the area and has a positive impact on all those he coaches.  We are also looking forward to having him mentor some of our younger coaches as well." Kendal will serve as an Asst Boys Director for the U13-14 Age groups -" Kendal will be coaching the U13 and U14 Elite teams and overseeing all the teams in his age group.  He brings a wealth of knowledge and excitement to the players in training and in games.  Players at these ages are still very much developing and Kendal is the perfect person to challenge all the players in these age groups while making sure they have a great experience " - Bobby O'Brien - Technical Director

He is dedicated to knowing all the kids in these age groups through his high school connections and will ensure they have the best opportunities and experiences available to these players. Reminder that the Virginia Legacy Soccer has announced it will be holding tryouts/player placements for its travel team programs beginning May 6th to May 11th 2023. Tryouts are for all boys ages 2015 to 2005 - looking to participate on a Virginia Legacy travel team.  Click Here for exact dates, times and locations as well as other pertinent travel team information for the upcoming Fall 2023 season.

Virginia Legacy will field multiple teams at every age of boys born in 2015 to 2005.  These Teams will be grouped by skill level or geography based on age to help with travel concerns.  Legacy Elite Teams will participate in the ECNL Regional League at U11 and U12 (2013 and 2012). All other Elite teams U13 - U19 (2011 to 2005) will play in National Premier League (VA NPL) in division 1. The Virginia NPL will provide the Legacy Elite teams with regional competition while still allowing for qualification through league play into regional and national events.
